Many Shaolin temples devised an extremely advanced form that would require great effort and diligent practice for the monks to master. Frequently this form was all that a monk would need to learn to increase strength, improve health and learn self-defense.


Grandmaster Doc-Fai Wong has been teaching martial arts since 1968 in the San Francisco area. His instructor in San Francisco was the famous kung fu teacher Lau Bun.
In Hong Kong, Grandmaster Wong was the first disciple of Great Grandmaster Hu Yuen-Chou and Grandmaster Wong Gong. Grandmaster Wong is the president of the Plum Blossom International Federation of C.L.F./T.C. and is a recognized leader worldwide in the martial arts. He is also a Doctor of Oriental Medicine and a California State certified Acupuncturist and Herbalist. He holds a doctorate degree in Allied Health Sciences and is a professor of the San Francisco City College system since 1974.
Grandmaster Wong is the author of the books Choy Li Fut Kung Fu, Shaolin Five Animals Kung Fu and Tai Chi's Internal Secrets. He was awarded the Kung Fu Artist of the Year at the 1991 Black Belt Hall of Fame Awards. He writes a monthly martial art column and is a contributing editor for Inside Kung Fu magazine.
